K-12 Teacher Maker Camp

Problem Solving * Design Thinking * CAD * Fabrication * Assembly * Laser Cutter * 3D Printing

Educators will become the students @ the Rutgers Makerspace and will experience design thinking, problem-solving and maker education.  They will choose from a variety of problems to solve, with the goal of developing an innovative product or process.  Working in collaborative teams, educators will analyze key features and fully define their chosen problem and brainstorm and shape a solution.  This solution will first be paper prototyped and then designed in a CAD package, and finally fully realized and fabricated using key makerspace tools, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines.  Participants will share and demo final solutions and working prototypes.  In addition, educators will document their process and use that data for the development of their own maker unit or lesson.
