CNC Milling

Computer Numerical Controller (CNC) Milling is a machining process that utilizes rotary cutters in order to remove material. Similar to drilling and cutting machines, milling allows the user to achieve many of the same operations. However, the CNC Mill is able to move along multiple axes, thus creating different shapes unable to be obtained readily on conventional drilling and cutting machines.

Graphic Cutters

Use our CNC graphics cutters are for much more than just making stickers! Besides making stickers/labels, and stencils for your projects, they can also be used to make make cutouts or creases for origami or other paper craft projects (cards and scrap booking). They can also cut heat transfer vinyl to help make custom apparel.

Our regular vinyl prices are $1.00/sq foot. Our Heat-Transfer vinyl prices are $2.50/sq foot.

Lasers

Laser cutters are powerful subtractive manufacturing tools that use a powerful laser beam to cut or engrave designs and patterns into materials.
The Makerspace has two Universal PLS 6.75 CO2 lasers which can cut up to 1/4" thick materials (most commonly wood, acrylic, cardboard, MDF, or fabrics) and engrave on many others (most commonly glass, acrylic, wood). We have a rotary attachment to the PLS for engraving shot glasses, wine glasses, etc.
