Types of Projects Allowed at Rutgers Makerspaces:
- Personal and Hobby Projects
- Academic and Club Projects
- Research Projects
- Entrepreneurship (Sell what you make!)
- Gifts
- AND MORE!
Types of Projects NOT Allowed:
- Weapons of any kind (except ornamental Fraternity traditions)
- Hazardous Materials (Lead, Uranium, Chemicals, etc.)
- Lasering items on the prohibited materials list
- Drug paraphernalia
Items not covered by the above list are not automatically permitted or automatically denied. Email us if unsure!
Use of the Rutgers logo:
With agreement of University Communications, Rutgers faculty, staff, and students are allowed to make one-off items (i.e a hat today, a keychain tomorrow) using the Rutgers "R" provided that 1) the design meets all University Guidelines, and 2) it is for YOUR personal use only.
Ownership of IP:
With the agreement of University Counsel, any original Intellectual Property (IP) developed by Rutgers students at the Makerspace will not be assigned by Rutgers. Faculty and staff should consult their respective contracts. We will not sign or enforce on others any non-disclosure agreements.
